Five songs you need to hear right now!

Five songs you need to hear this week are in, and it’s a wild cross-section of what’s shaping music right now.
2026 is starting with a strong string of album announcements, surprise releases, and subtle dance grooves. Between Skrillex’s ambient dubstep escapades and Arlo Parks slick beats, this year is looking like one ready to dance.

Kali Uchis – Muévelo

Latin Pop titan Kali Uchis has become a worldwide household name in the last decade. Known for her confident and sensual interpretations of R&B, reggaeton, and Dembow, the Colombian superstar ended 2025 with a bang by releasing ‘Muévelo’. The single was a spontaneous decision after a subsequent leak, but it quickly became a fan favorite after a long and tedious wait for its release. It’s chirpy, body-moving, and whimsical, with a tongue-in-cheek attitude that makes Kali Uchis’ music a blast to listen to.

Skrillex, Eurohead, Whitearmor, Swedm – Someone Said

2025 was the year Skrillex re-entered the pop culture canon with a critically adored album chock-full of collaborations and a string of fan-favorite releases. The once-emo-singer-turned-EDM superstar didn’t wait to follow up his dubstep-heavy run with his first EP of the year, Kora’, another project delivering fan favorite leaks and IDs that have been the stuff of legend among his tightly-knit community. We can’t get enough of Someone Said’: the track is a glitchy reimagining of the future-focused growls and stadium-sized drops that Skrillex popularized, utilizing the classic Swae Lee vox featured throughout his catalogue ever since he remixed Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode’.

Danny L Harle, Julia Michaels – Raft In The Sea

Danny L Harle is an iconic name in the vast world of pop music. The legendary modern pop producer and founding member of label P.C. Music has been behind the scenes on some of the biggest songs of the last decade, working with household names like Dua Lipa, Charli xcx, Clairo, and more. With nearly 15 years of experience under his belt, the English songwriter/producer is gearing up to release his debut album, Cerulean.’ Having released ethereal singles with the likes of Caroline Polachek, Oklou, Pinkpanthress, Harle is back with another taste of the album with Julia Michaels, ‘Raft In The Sea,’ creating an entrancing electro ballad, flavored in the sounds of progressive trance and ambient pop that soars high into a blue-tinged night sky.

Fcukers – L.U.C.K.Y

Blending dance-steady grooves with synth pop brightness, Fcukers are making waves this year as they prepare to release their debut album, ‘Ö’. Produced by Kenneth Blume (FKA Kenny Beats) and Dylan Brady (100 Gecs), these dance-pop underdogs are ready to take the scene by storm with Moog-wavy basslines and lowkey vocal performances—their new song, L.U.C.K.Y’, is a modular-synth hard hitter and future dance floor anthem ready to be featured on every DJ’s USB this summer.

Arlo Parks – 2SIDED

Breakbeats and Trip Hop-steady rhythms are becoming the underlying sound of 2026, and Arlo Parks hits it out of the park with her latest single, ‘2SIDED.’ Parks’ latest single is a smooth blend of Jai Paul-inspired R&B that rocks the room with its beautiful harmonies, flanged percussion, and washes of calming synthwave textures that are going to be the defining sounds and styles of Arlo Parks’ next album, ‘Ambiguous Desire.’
